Queensland's Managing the Risk of Psychosocial Hazards at Work Code of Practice 2022 provides practical guidance for preventing psychological and physical harm arising from work-related psychosocial hazards.
The Queensland Code applies in Queensland. Across Australia, corresponding duties operate through each jurisdiction's WHS or OHS framework, with differences in legislation, regulations, codes and terminology.
Organisations must identify and control hazards at their source. A policy, awareness session or individual resilience workshop does not, by itself, make an organisation compliant.
Organisational controls protect people. Individual capacity strengthens them.
The programs do not transfer responsibility for unsafe work onto the individual. The organisation remains responsible for eliminating or minimising psychosocial risks so far as is reasonably practicable.
